Come Celebrate ALL the seasons of Bayfield, ON

The Village of Bayfield really is like no other place in Ontario.  Here, life is slower, folks wave to strangers, our boutique owners take the time to help you, we have big historic buildings and trees and self-watering gardens, and of course, free parking.

We’re so unique that we even have 6 seasons and not 4 like everyone else.  How did that happen?  Well, let me explain...

We start the New Year off with Season One and it begins with a beautiful white blanket of snow complete with dangling sparkling lights.  We call it our winter wonderland season through January and February and you have to stroll through it to appreciate it.

Then we Go Green for March and April.  There are warmer days, beautiful floral displays, folks taking advantage of our scenic trails, and breathtaking sunsets.  Our friends and family also look forward to our annual Earth Day and St. Paddy’s Day festivities and smile at all the green bursts of colour around us.

Bayfield has many trails, browse our list of trails here.

May and June come next and we celebrate patio events and longer days, enjoying all of the new offerings from the many boutiques on Heritage Main Street.  Oh, and we can’t forget all the scrumptious menus at all our amazing restaurants.  Then there are those who enjoy spending restful evenings throughout Bayfield and area resorts, lodges, hotels, camps, and rentals.

July and August, bring in warmer days and we watch as visitors wander up and down Heritage Main Street, shopping in all of the little boutiques.  They’re taking advantage of the incredible restaurants, bakeries, and coffee shops while finding time to enjoy the beautiful beaches and our awe-inspiring sunset on Lake Huron.

Season five blows in with quieter days, cooler evenings, and colourful leaves gently touching down all around our village. The pace of life just seems different here. Some folks curl up with a good book from the village bookstore, and some pop into the wineries and breweries.  It’s the perfect time to visit and watch the seasons change from our vantage point.

And finally, we end the year with a tree-lighting ceremony in Clan Gregor Square. Our big jolly friend arrives on an original Penhale carriage to celebrate the warmth that is the season that takes us inside.  We get to enjoy the twinkle lights around the fireplace and some warm drinks with our special someone.

Won’t you join us for all the seasons we have to offer, we’ll save you a spot…
