  • MARCH HIKES

    Saturday, March 7 at 11 a.m. the hike will be on the Woodland Trail. Although the Woodland Trail is located within the village’s boundaries, the diversity of the natural environment is surprising. The hike is medium difficulty with the options of a 3.5 or 5 km loop. Hikers are asked to meet at the David Street trailhead parking lot. A map is available at: Woodland Trail. 

    Bannockburn Conservation Area will be the location of a guided hike on Saturday, March 21 also at 11 a.m. This hike will be along an almost 2 km recreational trail and will travel through six different natural communities including: Wet Meadow, Eastern White Cedar, Deciduous Forest, Old Field and Mixed Scrub and Marsh. Bannockburn Conservation Area is located at 76249 Bannockburn Line in Bluewater.

    These hikes are open to all and free of charge. Canine companions are welcome but they should be kept on leash.

    Every Saturday

    Mavis Trail

    11:00 am

    There will be guided hikes every Saturday in January at Mavis’ Trail starting at 11a.m.

    Anyone interested is asked to meet at the Stanley Community Centre parking lot at 38595 Mill Road in Varna. If conditions allow, people are invited to bring snowshoes. These hikes are open to all and free of charge. Canine companions are always welcome but it is asked that they please be kept on a leash.
