Logan Staats hails from Six Nations of the Grand River, and has earned a reputation as one of Canada’s cultural tastemakers, a land defender and one of our premiere storytellers. He pairs gritty and compelling songwriting with raw, authentic and high energy performances that electrify audiences. Weaving his way through folk, rock, roots and Americana music, Staats’ powerful voice has become a fan favourite across Canada and around the world.

Recent highlights include performing for 18,000 fans at the Los Angeles Forum for "Life is a Carnival: A Musical Celebration of Robbie Robertson", along with Eric Clapton, Mavis Staples and Van Morrison. Staats was also interviewed for the accompanying documentary, directed by Martin Scorcese. Other recent performances include the Juno Awards, Massey Hall, Mariposa Folk Festival, Calgary Stampede, CBC Music Festival and the Canadian National Exhibition.

As we approach the 35th anniversary of Christmas in Bayfield (Nov. 13 to 15), the Bayfield Historical Society is excited to spread some holiday cheer by offering poinsettias for sale. Poinsettias not only make a beautiful addition to your holiday decor but also serve as thoughtful gifts. Moreover, a portion of the sales from our poinsettia fundraiser will go directly towards our efforts in preserving the shared history of the village.

The plants, sourced from Huron Ridge Greenhouses in the Municipality of Bluewater, are available in two sizes and three colours: 6-inch single and 8-inch triple in red or white or marble.

Pre-order by October 31 (we must submit our total order to Huron Ridge Greenhouses on November 1) through our easy-to-complete form HERE OR by calling our board member Nancy at 519-565-4018.

You order will be ready for pickup at the Archives, Heritage & Visitor Centre (20 Main St. N.) during Christmas in Bayfield. This beloved event holds a special place in our community, and we are excited to share in the spirit of the weekend with you. After you’ve finished browsing the shops and enjoying all the holiday cheer on Main Street, drop by (we’re next to the library) on either November 14 or 15 between 10 am and 5 pm to pick up your plants!

The Bayfield Agricultural Society’s annual Wreath Sale will be held during the Christmas in Bayfield weekend.

Wreath Sizes/Prices: Medium - $30; Large - $40. Payment by cash or debit/credit.

These beautiful wreaths are made of natural grapevine, cedar, spruce, white pine, juniper, and yew. Each wreath is one of a kind and will add a special warmth to any holiday décor.

A limited number of greenery bundles, bows, and tails will also be available.
