It’s that time of the year again, and we couldn’t be more excited!
The 30th annual Christmas in Bayfield: Outdoor Market is nearly here! So to get you all ready for the festivities, check out our top five festive tips on how you can get the most out of Bluewater’s most anticipated holiday event from November 12th-December 24th, 2021!
Festive Tip #1: Dress Warm
The fun all begins tomorrow, November 12th, at the Lighting of the Lights Ceremony at 7:00 PM in Clan Gregor Square. From many attendees previous experiences, it is said to get a bit chilly at this time of night (and year), so we suggest bundling you and your loved ones up to stay toasty warm as we wait for the lights (and Santa). In the past, there have been hot dogs and warm beverages ready for all to enjoy with proceeds going towards many local initiatives! After the Lighting of the Lights ceremony, many attendees venture down Main Street North for late-night shopping, eloquent cuisine experiences and a chance for a socially distanced chat with Santa Claus himself at the Albion Hotel.
Festive Tip #2: Wear Comfy Shoes
Every Saturday until December 18th, Main Street North will be closed until 5:00 PM for a socially distanced outdoor market experience. Amidst the festive buskers, benches and fire pits, attendees will be able to explore Main Street North safely. This being said, Main Street North is not too large, however, when you are going in and out of every store scooping up the perfect gifts for the holiday season, all the walking can become a bit tiring, so comfy shoes to get back and forth between shops is a MUST at the Christmas in Bayfield: Outdoor Market.
Festive Tip #3: Arrive at Main Street North… HUNGRY
We know what you are thinking. Why arrive HUNGRY at an event?! Well, this is one of the very few events in the area that you can and are encouraged to! Located on Main Street North, where the outdoor market is taking place, is an array of sweets, drinks and tasty meals for all to enjoy. From a warm cup of joe from Shop Bike Coffee Roasters, a tasty sweet from the Hive or the Pink Flamingo and a warm meal from many of our local restaurants, you will not be disappointed!
Festive Tip #4: Don’t Forget Your Camera
With all the festivities happening in the Village, it is SO important to NEVER miss a moment! Especially when you have the chance to win a local shopping spree! Take out your camera, strike a pose at our Holiday Photo Booth and post your image online with #christmasinbayfield for a chance to win a $200.00 shopping spree at one of our many wonderful local businesses. The winners will be drawn in the new year, so it is time to flex those photography skills!
