Bayfield is truly blessed to be surrounded by some of the richest agricultural land in Ontario providing an ample variety of fresh fruits and vegetables in season. Local chefs take advantage of all that is offered and foodies reap the rewards.

Enjoy the bounty of the county at our many bistros, pubs and restaurants.

After a day playing in the sand, sailing on the lake or shopping on Main Street visitors will no doubt work up an appetite. Looking for affordable fabulous fare or a gourmet culinary experience? Both can be found in any number of dining establishments around and about the village.

Pizza, subs or a burger and fries on the go – you can order it. Wishing to share a pint or two with friends over some pub grub, infinite possibilities await. Hoping to stimulate your palette with true gourmand delights with pampered service in a polished atmosphere, its here too. Visitors will return for the food; perhaps one spot will become a favorite or for the more adventurous every sojourn will provide the opportunity to sample something new.

If visitors enjoy donning their own chef’s apron on occasion they too can benefit from the local plenty that is waiting just beyond the village limits.

Nearby farms provide fresh produce in season from tasty tomatoes to succulent sweet corn. A variety of berries, peaches and apples are available freshly plucked or spend a morning out in the fields picking your own. Many of the farmers in the area have their own stores where you can purchase, in addition to fruits and vegetables, home baking, preserves, fresh and smoked meats. Plus due to the proximity of a freshwater Great Lake the village also boasts fish markets. There is nothing better for a seafood lover than traveling down to the dock to pick up their very own catch of the day.

A little room left for dessert? There is no more satisfying indulgence than an ice cream or yogurt cone, both are readily available in our village – the perfect excuse to stroll Main Street on a summer’s eve, savoring an icy treat while soaking up the atmosphere.
